I noticed that I could not get to google the other day. My
reserved_networks file had this entry in it:
72.0.0.0/5
and if I lookup google I get this result:
;; ANSWER SECTION:
google.com. 20 IN A 64.233.187.99
google.com. 20 IN A 72.14.207.99
So it was going to the 72 address and generating MARTIAN entries in
syslog.
Nov 27 15:32:09 saturn kernel: [FIAIF_MARTIAN]:IN= OUT=eth0
SRC=207.172.210.41 DST=72.14.207.99 LEN=60 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=64
ID=52746 DF PROTO=TCP SPT=54796 DPT=80 WINDOW=5840 RES=0x00 SYN URGP=0
Until I understand this I have disabled the reserved_networks file. Can
someone please explain this? Is the reserved_networks file wrong?
TIA
