Hello Anders Fugmann,
For home use i have a debian linux server with fiaif running on it but i
cant get it working properly. I use the server to connect to the internet
through a virtual ppp0 interface, this works fine. I have only one account
to connect to the internet so I want to use the server that has one
ethernetcard to share the internet connection with my windows xp desktop
using fiaif. I use the preconfigured zone.ext file for the internet zone, so
everything is forwarded to my internal zone, and I enabled the internal zone
to masquerade the ip's to the ext zone. I use the dnsmasq package to
masquerade the dns servers. In my windows desktop i selected my server as
gateway and dns server. It doesnt work properly: I am able to use msn, game
and ping for example www.google.com but i cant visit sites at all. The only
thing I see in the statusbar of my browser is
res://C:\Windows\system32\shdocls.dll/dnserror.htm. Although im sure the dns
server works because I can ping sites by name. When I installed ipmasq
everything worked fine. What am I doing wrong??
Regards,
Jules van Oven
